In a traditional airline business the sale of a ticket takes place from various sources e.g. Agents, Booking offices, Online sale, GDS etc. The sale information is gathered from various sources and in various formats. It applies to the collection information, e.g. Bank deposit statements.

Thus it is essential to match the sale and collection information, which may be tedious, if carried out manually. Further to calculate flown revenue, entire life cycle of a booking (sale) needs to be tracked. For today's volumes, this is an impossible proposition, if done manually.

Aerosoft Systems Pvt. Ltd. (ASPL), Pune has developed a customized web based software solution named "Revenue Control System" (RCS) to suite the revenue control needs of airline accounting, for an IT focused Airline using e-ticketing.

RCS is accurate and cost effective solution. It answers wide range of issues encountered during revenue calculation and reconciliation. The RCS takes inputs from various entities (Portal, Payment Gateways, Bank, Pilot Report, Engineering Report etc.) involved, in sale, collection, and revenue realization. RCS closely monitors and reconciles the sales data, collection (Banking and Payment Gateway) data and generates the Accounting Entries and Trial Balance. The system tracks entire life cycle of a PNR. RCS compares the sales data with the collection and finds out discrepancies (if any). Thus, RCS gives detailed information about the airline's sale and collection. The system also calculates the flown revenue and physical (quality) parameters. This provides vital information about the aircraft’s performance (route-wise and efficiency-wise).

As data extracted from the inputs is stored at atomic level, various management reports can be easily generated. RCS makes it possible for an airline user to find out the sale, inward remittance received and realized revenue at any given point. RCS ensures accurate and smooth revenue accounting to match the customers' requirements perfectly. Currently RCS has ability to generate airline invoices with full-billed value and incorporates necessary accounting effects into the system.

RC System comes in 2 flavors:

• Processed Results: In this case all input files are sent to ASPL as electronic mail. Data processing is done at Aerosoft premises and all the necessary reports sent to the airline company in electronic as well as in printed format.
  
  
• Online Results: In this case all input electronic files are uploaded to a web server. Processing is done on a Centralized server kept at a Data Center. RCS can be accessed by authorized users from anywhere in the world using the Internet.

RCS uses MS-SQL as database. The development platform used is latest MS-Dot Net technology, hence inherits all it's advantages.
